As you can see, we have increased our hours and
we need your help. Please consider becoming
a volunteer at the Museum. We need
volunteers to be:
- Docent/Tour Guides
- Help organize our research files
- Help run our booths at upcoming events
We need help on both weekends and during the
week. If you are interested in helping share
the history of this wonderful area, please contact
us today. Training will be provided.
For over 40 years, the Waterford Historical
Museum has depended on its volunteers for many
tasks, from stuffing envelopes to cataloguing
objects. With the arrival of a full-time director,
the Museum will be taking on many new projects -
projects that need your help!
There are volunteer opportunities at the Museum to
suit practically any interest. Time commitments
are flexible, and can range from a few shifts at
the information desk to regularly scheduled hours
as an office assistant.
Volunteers can work in any of the following areas:
Administration: As the Museum expands, our
administrative obligations continue to increase.
We are producing more mailings, organizing our
files, and computerizing many of our records.
Administrative volunteers can help out with
numerous projects, from stuffing newsletters to
entering data into our computer system. Experience
is not a requirement: just a willingness to help
out!
Programs: We are committed to sponsoring
educational and engaging programs for people of
all ages. However, we always need volunteers to
help set up the Museum, to provide refreshments
for programs, or to clean up afterwards. If you
would like to fit volunteering at the Museum into
your busy schedule, this is a great way to do it.
Docent / Information desk: During our season
we need volunteers to welcome visitors, answer
questions, and lead tours. This year we will be
open more frequently, so we need a strong group of
volunteers to keep us open all season. If you have
volunteered as a docent in previous years, please
consider volunteering again - and if you haven't
served as a docent before, this is a great way to
show off our museum and our town to visitors.
Interested? Contact the Museum Director, either by
email, or
at (518) 238-0809.
